Fighting bureaucracy: the business licensing revolution

This week, the Knesset Interior Committee passed changes to the Business Licensing Order, which will allow businesses to significantly extend the length of validity of their business license, thereby avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy. As part of the amendment, a coffee shop will be able to obtain a business license for 10 years instead of 3 years, and a pub will be able to obtain a license for five years instead of submitting an application every year. The changes were led by MK Roi Folkman during the discussions of the Interior Committee, in cooperation with restaurant owners, pubs and other small businesses: “For years you were promised a reduction in bureaucracy, promises that weren’t kept”, said Minister Kahlon “We put an end to that”.
